Plumbing Technician (Apprentices Encouraged to Apply!)

We at The Service Company are looking for qualified professionals to join our team. We have a few opportunities available immediately, as our departments are growing by leaps & bounds. We currently have plumbing positions available for immediate hire. We are in need of all type positions in plumbing. If you are a licensed plumber and looking for a change, please give us a chance. If you are an experienced Apprentice with several years of plumbing under your belt, we need you! We are looking for friendly, honest and dependable employees to join our team. As a plumbing technician you are a key member of our team responsible for the quality and efficient installation, maintenance, and repairs of all plumbing issues. Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitation systems in residential and commercial structures. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local regulations.

Plumber Job Duties:
  • Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
  • Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Assembles fittings and valves for installation
  • Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building
  • Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary
  • Installs water heaters
  • Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
  • Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building
  • Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
  • Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
  • Advanced Pump/Lift Station Diagnosis, Service and Repair
  • Complete knowledge of Plumbing Drainage, Waste & Venting Systems
  • Advanced Drain Cleaning with Cable Machine

HVAC Technician (Commercial, Residential, and Apprentices)

Positions Available
HVAC Commercial Technician with 5+ years experience (full time)
HVAC Residential & Light Commercial Technician with 2-3 years+ experience (full time)
HVAC Apprentices Some experience is a plus (full time)

Must have a basic understanding of supply and return air ducts in relation to equipment performance, and a basic understanding of exhaust and make-up air operation. Must be able to read and understand electrical wiring schematic diagrams for HVAC units up to 100 tons. Must be capable of troubleshooting and understanding the basic refrigeration cycle using the principles of super heat and sub-cooling, and must understand all devices in refrigeration cycle up to 100 tons including heat pumps. Must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing all horsepower motors up to 25 horsepower. Must be capable of troubleshooting and replacing reciprocating, scroll and semi-hermetic compressors up to 100 tons. Must be capable of troubleshooting and replacing gas and electrical heating controls for units up to 100 tons. Must be capable of troubleshooting and replacing high and low voltage controls and wiring for units up to 100 tons, including but not limited to zoning systems, thermostats (digital, programmable and non-programmable), electrical whip kits, electric heat strips, etc. Must adhere to the Company’s rules of conduct illustrated in the employee handbook and must abide by all local, state and federal laws mandating the usage and disposal of refrigerants.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have current Universal refrigeration certification – prefer to have years prior experience.
  • Must have an excellent understand of HVAC systems, controls and related equipment.
  • Must have good people skills, communicate well verbally and have good writing skills.
  • Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and record.
  • Must be able to pass a random drug screening and background check.
  • Must meet the physical requirements required to perform the job duties as required.
